It is important to think about a few things before we meet to quote your project. To prepare for our meeting, read through the checklist below and then give us a call on 0422 244 218.
How to prepare for our meeting scope
Make a list of all the rooms, exterior sides of the house and surfaces that you wish to be painted.
Examine the condition of the surfaces. If the surface is in poor condition it will need a lot of preparation. Would it be better to be replaced? Does maintenance work need to take place prior to painting, such as fixing rusty gutters and rotten timber? Will the house require washing down?
Are there personal items and furnishings that will need to be covered or moved?
Timing
When is the ideal time for work to commence and when do you want it finished by?
Colour
A fresh coat of paint is an opportunity for a new look and so colour choice is very important. Look in magazines or around your neighbourhood for colour schemes you like. Go to your local paint shop for colour charts. Ask for sample pots to test on areas around your home or paint on cardboard that you can move around different parts of the house. Look at colour choice websites. We like Resene and Dulux.
Ask Vince’s Painting for colour advice or ask them how to arrange a meeting with a professional colour consultant. Keep in mind that painting light colours over a dark colour (or vice versa) may require additional coats to achieve coverage and this may add to the cost of the quote.
If you have any questions about these tips or to arrange a
meeting time, call Vince’s Painting on 0422 244 218. We look
forward to meeting with you soon to discuss your project.
